Dunn Carney litigation and employment attorney Lauren Russell explores the firm’s unique approach to understanding and addressing issues of inclusion, diversity, equity and awareness in a just-published column in the 2019 August-September issue of the Oregon State Bar Bulletin.
In “Dunn Carney’s IDEA Squad fosters open discussion; Don’t be afraid to make mistakes” Lauren reviews the two-year history and ongoing efforts of the firm’s IDEA Squad , a 15-member committee that has been working with national consultant Johnny Lake to better recognize, understand and address firm issues related to inclusion, diversity, equity and awareness.
The IDEA Squad is one of three firm committees created as part of an effort to build an effective, supportive and collaborative community. The other two committees are the R.A.T. (Retention, Advancement and Training) Patrol and DC Law (Dunn Carney League of Attorney Women).
“These groups play an important role in the successful growth of our firm and firm culture and the development and retention of our staff and attorneys,” explains Jon Bennett, Dunn Carney’s managing partner.
