Ben R. Eckstein

Debi Boersma, Practice Assistant

Ben Eckstein is an associate attorney at Dunn Carney, with a background spanning a wide range of litigation and transactional matters. Ben’s practice focuses on advocating for clients through dispositive motion practice and appellate briefing, and supporting public and private clients in navigating commercial transactions and issues at the intersection of law and public policy.

Ben seeks to harness his varied experiences across private practice and various state agencies and as a nonprofit manager to develop the most effective strategy for his clients, balancing the objectives and needs that matter to them most. He previously served in a management role at a regional nonprofit health plan, an Assistant Attorney General with the Oregon Department of Justice and the Montana Department of Justice, and an in-house attorney for the Montana Commissioner of Securities and Insurance. He began his legal career in private practice in Bend, Oregon, where he represented public and private clients, including a substantial tribal law practice representing a sovereign Tribal Nation in Oregon.

Ben earned his J.D. from Willamette University College of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon. Outside of work, Ben spends as much time as he can on trails, slopes, and lakes. He also enjoys discovering new podcasts, taking advantage of his library card, and spending time with his two senior dogs.
