Heather Oden

Heather Oden brings more than 25 years of experience leading human resources and law firm operations across both AmLaw and regional firms in the Portland area. She is a trusted advisor to firm leadership, with deep expertise in employee relations, organizational development, and the systems and strategies that support strong workplace cultures.

Her background spans all facets of human resources, including talent acquisition and development, benefits administration, performance management, and policy implementation. Heather is particularly skilled at guiding organizations through periods of growth, transition, and operational change.

Before joining Dunn Carney, Heather served in senior leadership roles overseeing firm-wide operations across human resources, finance, technology, marketing, and facilities. She has a proven record of strengthening operational performance, improving service delivery, and supporting consistent financial outcomes, even in challenging economic environments.

At Dunn Carney, Heather works closely with attorneys and staff to foster a collaborative, professional, and supportive workplace.

Heather earned her B.S. in Finance from Virginia Commonwealth University and holds a Legal Project Management certification. She is active in several professional organizations, including the Society for Human Resource Management and the Association of Legal Administrators.

A returned Peace Corps volunteer, Heather continues to value global connection and community service. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her two dogs and exploring the outdoors with them.
