J. David Zehntbauer
David Zehntbauer is a partner at Dunn Carney LLP where he practices real estate and corporate law. He leads the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group and is also an active member of the Business & Corporate Practice Group and Agriculture & Natural Resources team.
David has extensive experience in commercial property acquisitions and dispositions as well as commercial and residential leasing, lease enforcement and secured financing on behalf of both lenders and borrowers. In addition to his real estate expertise, David routinely advises closely held businesses ranging in size and industry regarding entity selection, formation and financing, mergers and acquisitions and asset and stock sale transactions. David also provides counsel on real estate transactions and corporate structure to clients engaged in the legal business of cannabis production, manufacturing and sales.
David is a responsive and practical deal maker who maintains a view of the big picture and the best interests of his client. He is adept at identifying risks and works to minimize them while facilitating smooth closings for his clients.
In addition to leading Dunn Carney’s Real Estate Practice Group, David served a three-year term on the firm’s Executive Committee starting 2012.
David lives with his wife and two children in Northeast Portland where he is active working out, playing soccer & golf, and attending his kids’ sporting events.
