Jonathan A. Bennett

Jon Bennett is an experienced real estate and business attorney who has maintained an active practice while serving as managing partner of Dunn Carney LLP since 2011. He is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Team and Construction and Design Team. As managing partner, he chairs the firm’s Executive Committee.

Jon has more than 35 years of experience at the firm, representing business and real estate clients on matters ranging from daily operations to significant transactions and disputes. He focuses on real estate agreements involving leases, acquisitions, design, development and construction, and has special expertise in the negotiation of American Institute of Architects (AIA) contracts.

Jon’s experience in business, real estate and litigation has given him a practical sense of business reality that enables him to help clients get to the transactional “finish line” effectively and efficiently.

In 2014 Jon was elected to a three-year term as a board member for Habitat for Humanity Portland Metro/East. He was elected to additional three-year terms in 2017 and 2020.

  • Construction and Design Contracts – Represent owners in negotiation and completion of AIA Construction and Architecture Agreements for commercial office and high-rise residential towers.
  • Real Estate Seller – Represented seller in the sale of approximately 20 acres of Multnomah County land and improvements valued at $18 million to institutional investor.
  • Landlord Representation (REIT) – Represented landlord in negotiation of 11-year lease for premises of approximately 77,000 square feet for single tenant in Beaverton, Oregon.
