Intellectual property attorney Kelly Lusk focuses on all aspects of the acquisition, protection, enforcement, monetization, and litigation of trademarks, patents, and copyrights, including licensing, litigation, and prosecution. She is a member of Dunn Carney’s Business Team.
Kelly has worked with well-known Denver and Portland IP law firms advising clients ranging from individuals to start-up companies and Fortune 500 corporations. Her IP litigation, strategic planning, prosecution and licensing experience extends to a wide range of industries.
Kelly brings a unique understanding of the range of IP business and legal issues facing clients today. She is able to help her clients protect their ideas, mobilize their IP assets, and secure mutually beneficial business arrangements and relationships. In the event that a client needs to enforce or litigate its intellectual property, Kelly has the skill set and experience to handle the litigation.
Kelly is skilled in structuring, negotiating and drafting all types of intellectual property protection licenses and other types of IP contracts. She has drafted, prosecuted, enforced, and litigated trademarks, design patents, plant patents, utility patents and copyrights. She has also experience in Copyright DMCA actions, WIPO cybersquatting cases, and trademark oppositions and cancellations. Kelly also assists clients in developing and executing strategic intellectual property protection plans. She has extensive experience in drafting intellectual property opinions, such as invalidity or non-infringement opinions.
Kelly is a certified licensing professional and member of the Licensing Executive Society. She is admitted to prosecute patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
In her spare time, Kelly enjoys spending time with family and friends, scuba diving — she is a divemaster — and helping at the family saltwater aquarium store, Cuttle Fish and Corals.
