Dunn Carney is pleased to welcome three 2025 summer associates, Kyla Helsel, Madeline Masaryk, and Kana Yoshigi.
Kyla Helsel is a rising 3L at Lewis & Clark. She received her undergraduate degree from University of Minnesota-Carlson School of Management where she majored in Supply Chain & Operations with minors in Business Analytics and Leadership. Before beginning law school, she worked in the powersports industry doing supply chain work. In law school, Kyla is involved in the Students for International Environmental Law student group and works as a legal writing teaching fellow and a managing editor for the Environmental Law Review journal.
Maddy Masaryk is a rising 3L at Lewis & Clark Law School. Maddy received her undergraduate degree in business finance from Ohio State University. Prior to returning to law school, Maddy worked at a real estate development firm. Maddy’s work in real estate was centered around financial modeling and capital stack coordination for a wide variety of multifamily and commercial projects. In law school, Maddy works as the submission’s editor for the Lewis & Clark Law Review and is a writing fellow in the Law School Writing Center. Maddy hopes to leverage her law degree to tackle real estate, land use, and affordable housing from the legal lens.
Kana Yoshigi is a Multnomah Bar Association Fellow and is a rising 2L at the University of Oregon. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Utah in chemistry with a focus in biochemistry. Before attending law school, she worked at the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she studied the tumor microenvironment, regulation of protein expression, and helped develop new tools to study amino acid metabolism. She is also an active member in several Asian American and Pacific Islander organizations in both Salt Lake City and Eugene.
