Environmental
Dunn Carney’s environmental attorneys assist clients as they confront the myriad of state and federal environmental laws and regulations that impact property transfers, the investigation and remediation of hazardous wastes, the recovery of investigation and remediation costs from other liable parties, the use and disposal of hazardous materials, and the discharge of storm water or regulated pollutants into water bodies. We advise and assist our clients as they negotiate and work with local, state and federal agencies that deal with environmental matters, including the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, the Washington Department of Ecology and the Environmental Protection Agency. We have developed a leading national expertise in structuring and documenting transactions in the rapidly-growing area of climate change regulations, including the purchase and sale of carbon dioxide offsets and other environmental attributes. We also address environmental matters in transactional work and handle lawsuits, administrative appeals or insurance coverage disputes. Our environmental law team handles transactional matters, lawsuits, administrative appeals, and insurance coverage disputes.
