Appeals are different from trials. They happen in different courts, involve different rules and procedures, and frequently entail different levels of analysis. At Dunn Carney, we understand those differences, and we understand the resulting importance to our clients of having a team of attorneys who specialize in appeals. Our experienced team of appellate attorneys handles appeals throughout the Northwest, including the Oregon and Washington state appellate courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Those appeals cover a broad range of practice areas, including antitrust, business torts, civil rights and constitutional law, construction, contracts, employment, environmental, insurance, personal injury, products liability, professional liability and real estate. Dunn Carney’s appellate attorneys also represent industry and other interested groups who are not parties to appeals, but who wish to appear as amicus curiae for purposes of having their views represented and considered by the appellate courts.
