Elizabeth E. Howard, Partner
Through practical experience, Elizabeth has developed a practice focused on water law, environmental and natural resources law, agricultural law and real estate and land use matters. She regularly represents her clients in federal and state courts, in negotiations with administrative agencies, and in administrative proceedings at the county, state and federal level.
Prior to obtaining a Certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law from the Northwestern School of Law at Lewis & Clark College, Elizabeth graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Agricultural and Resource Economics from Oregon State University. Her degree from Oregon State University and her experience growing up as the daughter of a small business owner gives Elizabeth a clear appreciation for the economics of addressing legal problems in the current economy. She approaches each case with an eye towards effectively achieving her client's goals while maintaining a high degree of sensitivity towards the costs incurred to do so.
Elizabeth was admitted to the Oregon Bar in 2001, and to the North Dakota Bar in 2002. She is admitted to practice in the federal U.S. District Court of Oregon, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Elizabeth is very involved in the community. She serves as an Attorney-Advisor to the Western Resources Legal Clinic, is secretary of the Agriculture Section of the Oregon State Bar, is a guest speaker at Oregon State University classes, speaks at community and agriculture organizational meetings, and helps other legal professionals learn about important natural resource issues through continuing legal education seminars. She is also involved in the Oregon Women in Agriculture, the Multnomah County Bar, and is a leader in her local church.
