David P. Rossmiller, Partner
David is a partner who specializes in complex insurance coverage advice and litigation.
David is a noted national insurance coverage expert and has been quoted in dozens of media stories on insurance and legal issues in articles in a variety of publications, including the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, USA Today, the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the Oregonian and many more. He has written extensively for the Appleman on Insurance treatise and related publications, and he also writes the Insurance Coverage Blog, a popular and influential blog on insurance coverage matters and industry development, at www.insurancecoverageblog.com. David’s insurance practice includes a broad range of issues: general commercial liability, errors and omissions and professional liability coverage, directors and officers liability, environmental property damage, sex abuse coverage, construction defect, business interruption insurance, first-party commercial property disputes, homeowners and auto, managed care, employer liability and others.
Besides insurance coverage, David’s practice includes litigation of trademark, copyright and patent infringement, unfair competition, trade secrets, and other intellectual property cases. David also has extensive experience in environmental contamination litigation and advice, including litigation under CERCLA and state environmental laws. He has an outstanding record of achieving successful results for his clients.
Besides his blogging, David writes frequently for publications such as the Appleman on Insurance 2d treatise, New Appleman on Insurance: Critical Issues, New Appleman Insurance Law Practice Guide, Bloomberg Law Reports: Insurance and others.
