Eric A. Kekel, Partner
Dunn Carney Allen Higgins & Tongue LLP
Eric is a partner at Dunn Carney practicing in the areas of commercial litigation, personal injury defense, construction law, insurance defense and insurance coverage. He handles a variety of litigated matters including business disputes, contract disputes, commercial and consumer collections, construction claims, trespass claims, and a variety of personal injury defense ranging from automobile accidents, products liability, and premises liability. Eric has published articles involving Oregon’s product liability law and affecting service of process in automobile accident cases. Eric is a member of the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel and is also admitted to practice in the state of Washington. Prior to law school, Eric worked as a marketing and sales manager for Dahlin Dental Laboratories and Productivity Training Corporation.
Eric has special expertise in defending construction defect and design claims, many relating to moisture penetration and mold in homes built with an exterior insulation and finish system (EIFS). He has represented architects, engineers, general contractors and subcontractors, including EIFS applicators, caulkers, plumbers, roofers, window installers, framers and siding contractors. Claims have ranged from a few hundred thousand dollars to over 120 million dollars. In 2006, Oregon Super Lawyers recognized Eric as a Super Lawyer in Construction Litigation.
